FAQs
The Cookie Exchange
What type of cookie can I bring?
All types are welcome! Regular drop cookies, cut out cookies, bar cookies, shortbread cookies, slice cookies, you name it! We even accept brownies and bars!
Are we allowed to change our minds on the kind of cookie we make after we purchase tickets?
Not this year, no. Last year we did offer this as an option, however people were changing their cookie flavor far past the cut off date, making it nearly impossible to have everyone’s cookies labeled correctly. I know for a fact we had chocolate chip cookies labeled as blueberry muffin cookies, because someone decided to change cookies the day of the event! Yikes! We’re trying to keep our peace of mind this year, and also ensure guests know what they’re eating, so what you write is what you bring!
Are ingredients listed for allergy folks?
We don’t have concrete plans to display individual ingredients, (some people have secret family recipes), but if we can, we will.
Will there be small bites again this year?
Yes! There will be charcuterie, a cash bar, and of course lots of cookies!
What is the date?
Thursday, December 5th
How many tickets will be sold?
There will be 260 tickets sold for the event.
Cookie Suggestions?
Bring your favorite Christmas cookie! I love browsing Pinterest for inspiration!
How much are the tickets?
Tickets are $35/person
Is it 6 different cookie flavors for a total of 6 dozen?
Your 6 dozen must be all the same flavor cookie!
Are there often a lot of repeat flavors?
There were very few repeats last year! Everyone got creative, and even if they brought the same type of cookie, it didn’t mean they tasted the same, as everyone uses their own recipe!
Can I buy 2 tickets at one time?
Yes! You can buy up to 8 tickets per person, but keep in mind, you MUST fill out the name, phone, email, address, cookie name, and cookie description for each individual ticket! That might take a little while, so we recommend ordering in smaller groups for your best chance of getting tickets.
With tickets being nontransferable, can I buy more than one ticket for a friend and myself?
Yes! As long as you put the correct name and cookie name on each ticket. You cannot buy two tickets and put both under your name.
Do you need volunteers to help?
Right now, we’re all set, but I will let everyone know if we need volunteers!
How many cookies do you need to make to hand out?
Everyone must bring 6 dozen cookies of the same flavor.
When do tickets go on sale?
Friday October 25th at 12PM EST (noon)
Do you have to stay until 10pm to get cookies?
Nope! The exchange part starts around 8:45, so once you have your cookies you can either skidaddle or hang out until 10.
Are decorated sugar cookies allowed?
Yes! All types of cookies and bars are allowed!
How do you get tickets?
We anticipate these tickets selling quickly. To purchase tickets to the event, you must have the name of your cookie, as well as a brief description of the cookie at the time of purchase. You may NOT change your cookie type from what you originally type in, so make sure you think it through! Tickets this year will be non-transferable to prevent ticket resellers.
What if people are making the same cookies?
There will probably be a few repeat cookies, but everyone has different recipes so they will still taste different! This was not much of an issue last year!
How quickly do tickets sell out usually?
Last year they all sold in about 1 minute and 30 seconds!
How many tickets can we buy at one time for our group?
You may purchase 8 tickets at a time, but we do recommend buying in smaller quantities, as there is so much information to input for each ticket, it might take a while with a large amount.
Am I allowed to bring my younger daughter if she doesn’t get cookies and just pays $35?
Unfortunately due to occupancy and amount of tickets, everyone who purchases a ticket must bring 6 dozen of the same cookie.
Will there be a second date?
This is a one day event on Thursday, December 5th!
What did people in the past bring 6 dozen cookies in?
They must be brought in a disposable container! Most people used tin foil roasting pans, gift boxes lined with parchment, or a disposable platter such as ones you can purchase at craft stores.
If there are duplicate cookie submissions, will you reach out to offer the chance to change?
Nope! There will surely be a few duplicates, but not enough to warrant making people change cookies. Think of it this way - if only one person brings peanut butter blossoms, that’s only 48 cookies for 260 guests! It’s nice to have a couple repeats so all guests can take home specific flavors if they like, plus everyone’s recipes are different!
Will there be one or two times?
This is a one-day event on Thursday December 5th at 7pm!
